the goth and the glamorous

"We came up with a new idea that...we would get married the day that gays and lesbians can get married - when that right is given to them. We've decided that we're gonna use that in a positive way, so the day that law gets passed then we'll get married." - Charlize Theron talking about the agreement she has with her boyfriend Stuart.

that is only one of the reasons she's rockin this post today. as you know, i am a fan of hot women. therefore, im a BIG fan of Charlize's. and she's the rare breed of actress that's beautiful AND talented at the same time. sort of like Angelina with fewer blood references. she's the one to go to when you DONT wanna get stabbed while having sex.

she was great in "The Astronaut's Wife" (with my wife, Clea Duvall). great in "Cider House Rules", "Reindeer Games" and "North Country". and if you dont think she did a spectacular job in "Sweet November" you can kiss my grits. i sat through 2 hours of Keanu "Whoa." Reeves because Charlize lit up the screen.

aaaanyway, so this first clip...i just watched it again for the 100th time since it first aired. oh my god, how this cameo was not nominated for an Emmy, i dont know. "Arrested Development" (home to Ellen's girlfriend Portia) like "Sons & Daughters" was one of the best tv shows EVER. and of course, it was cancelled. cause we HAVE to make room for um...you know...whats that other show? well just *insert sucky show here*. Charlize was in a few episodes of the last season to try to help keep the show on the air. watch all of this clip...cause if you dont love her already, you certainly will when this is over.

if you've seen "Monster," please leave a comment and let me know (without giving too much away!) if i should see it or not. i really really really want to, but im afraid of the more difficult scenes to watch.

the only part of "Monster" that ive seen...

the vid i used to have here isnt available anymore...

buy it...

i had SUCH a crush on Christina Ricci when i was 13. i saw the second "Addams Family" movie like 5 times in the theater. and then she grew up to make great movies...including (im sure) the one in the clip above.

"...and for all these reasons, I have decided to scalp you and burn your village to the ground." marry me Wednesday Addams?

the winners for the tshirt contest held on friday the 15th are: this dude and this chick. if you are listed here, please email me at interludemagazine@yahoo.com :-) thanks to everyone who participated!

It's been a little while since I've seen it. But the difficult parts are not so much difficult graphic-wise as difficult content-wise. Amazing movie though. It brings us to a lot of different places that most of us don't know about and honestly don't quite know how to deal with. (And I'm not just talking the whole underage lesbian thing) Ricci is good (as always), and Theron in unbelievable- I mean physics defying good. See it. And if your that squeemish, find someone to hold your hand and you'll be fine.

The whole movie is difficult to watch. If you're going to watch it, watch it because you wanna see the movie not for the lesbian scenes because its so muh more then that. There's alot of twisted pain in it as well. It's a great movie but I couldnt watch it more then twice.

i read recently on planetout.com, not sure whether to believe it or not that brad pitt has said the same thing about marrying that he wasn't gonna do it again until everyone could. interesting. just thought i would share. oh and I love Moster, i mean distressing at times but good.

I pretty much agree with what's been said so far. ;) It's an incredible movie, but it is definitely very intense!! If you have your own issues, it's definitely a tough call.. ;) I've seen it once, and don't think I could see it again soon... kinda like Boys Don't Cry... ;)

Oh man. I love Monster. Charlize Theron never ceases to amaze me.
There were a few places the first go-around I had to pause it and let it all sink in, but that's the beauty of it. The struggle of human development.
