Coffee Shop Lesbians...

I go to Starbucks every once in a while. Is that gay or is it too corporate to be gay? Someone hip me to what coffee shops the lesbians are hitting up. Cause I don't drink coffee, I just go in for either a hot chocolate (yes even in the summer) or a tall mocha frap with lots of caramel on top. mmmmmm....

Starbucks really should have live music on certain days/times. There should be someone in each city who's in charge of showcasing local talent. I'm sure they do this at some Starbucks...but I've never seen it.

We'll let's pretend this blog is our own local coffeeshop where we've all met to kick it for a few hours. Sit back, sip on something warm (or iced) and enjoy the musical stylings of these young lesbian artists that I've stumbled upon lately:

First up, we have Steph Hayes from Philadelphia. Lets give her a round of applause:

And next up, Emily Asen, who I first introduced you to in this post...from CT:

I support locally owned coffee shops and have vowed to never step into a Starbucks (mostly political reasons for it). I think most other lesbians probably try to locally owned coffee shops and the ones who don't probably go to starbucks or seattle drip or similar chains for accessibility.
hrmmm... I love my local coffee shop. :)

i have noticed myself stumbling into starbucks more often than i would like. and when i pass through their doors its with a childlike stomp. whats a coffee crazed boi to do? and i have love for the starbucks employees, they make a mad tasty white chocolate mocha. perhaps if they had some local entertainment such as what you present here, i would be more apt to leave my stomps at the club..

ok so this is totally just the lesbian in me, but can anyone else see the reflection of a naked woman in the head of Emily Asen's guitar near the end of her (amazingly wonderful) song? i so hope its not just me. *tho it probably is*

haha. I figured, I enjoy this blog plenty enough for it to be worth buying you a frap.

And, I was never a big fan of the 'bucks (you know, wah wah big business.) But then I started dating someone who worked there, and consequently got to know everyone else who worked there. Now I go there pretty often.

Believe it or not I am actually a Starbucks employee who is also a lesbian, and whaddaya know, I'm actually working in the city it started in (seattle). I'm proud of my job, and I might actually bring up the live music thing to my fellow partners, (some places do it though).
Thanks guys!

At one of the starbux in my city are many gay employees and gay clientele, but I'm not so sure about any of the others. I can't stand starbux for how corporate they are, and I think caffeine is essentially just a form of crack--certain people exploit others to profit from it legally while others exploiting and profiting off of very similar substances do time for it, or would. However, any "community" is as much queerbait for me as the next big dyke'mo or tranny, and I've found myself increasingly frequenting the place with friends and lovers.... To top it all off (not with frappacaraccino whipped cream and sprinkles or anything), since I don't drink the stuff, I have to buy their crappy expensive tea. ...........Does anyone know if I should let up my sentiment towards them, i.e., if their fair trade and donation ethics are really all the advertising says they are?
