the color purple...

i got this message today...it represents the hundreds of messages regarding the i.d. string idea i had in December, and i wanted to show it to you guys to show you that its spreading. keep up the great work EVERYONE! (please click on the tab at the top of the page if youre not familiar with "purple string: the new lesbian i.d.")

"Hello!

I belong to the GLBT group on Southern Illinois University Edwardsville in Edwardsville, IL. I just wanted to let you know that I took your lesbian ID idea and ran with it and we now have over 100 girls on campus wearing them! I am in a relationship, so I don't know from experience, but I have been told that this is making lesbian dating on campus MUCH easier! Keep it up with the GENIUS ideas! =)

Thank You
Keigh-Cee"

Arlan, you're a revolutionary. I've seen girls with the purple string here in Montana also. MONTANA! How awesome is that?

I'm from Mass and have a bunch of gay/bi friends on the womens lacrosse team at our school. They all started wearing them without even knowing about this so when I told them we all decided we'd go out and buy the actual string! :)
Keep spreading the word!

I think this is so cool. Before I found this site and this thing about the purple I had a armband tattoo and I had them put a purple strip weaved into the design. The purple was for my girlfriend.

I think your idea is AWESOME! I was so excited to hear there was another option aside from the rainbow gear which I do wear everyday. But at places where discretion is required (job,college,etc...) I adore the bracelete!I so can't wait to get to the craft store this weekend to pick up my yarn. Think I'll make them for my friends as well. I will also pass this along to the Staten Island, NY area. Can't wait to see how many PURPLE bracelets start showing up!
