You Look Like a Photograph of Yourself Taken From Far, Far Away.

Fact: There's not enough Ani Difranco on my blog.
Fiction: I once passed for Ani Difranco at a Montreal bus terminal.

Fact: Some people still don't know who Ani Difranco is.
Fiction: The parts I filmed in The Sound of Music and Mary Poppins were cut out when test audiences thought I was "showing up" Julie Andrews.

Fact: Ani Difranco needs to be all up in your ipod right next to Patty Griffin if she isn't already.
Fiction: I am a breast inspector. Don't be fooled by my badge.

This is the first Ani song I heard years ago. She had me at "hello."

("Pretty Girl" fan video by Tigerlilly)

Here's another one of my favorites:

("Untouchable Face" live)

Besides being a musical genius, she's one of my heroes in business. She's never signed a record deal even though every label you can think of has approached her several times. Yet she's sold millions of records on her own. Kinda gives me chills. Love it!

Oh and by the bi...doesn't this chick look like she could be Ani's kid sister??

my 2 favs are 32 flavors and little plastic castle.... for someone who's married with a kid and not gay.....she's wicked gay!!!! love her, however i saw in november here in boston and since child birth has mellowed out. she only said f#ck like twice compared to pre child when it was every other effing word. someone summed it up after said concert perfectly...... "Ani u are so much more awesome when u were disgruntled!!" i concur!!

! Ani is my hero! I have ALL of her albums and love them all. Her little baby girl is turning one on Sunday, the 20th of January. The same day I am turning 30. Yes, it was meant to be...

I am lucky enough to have seen her twice in concert. She is amazing. The perfect role model for any girl, queer or otherwise. Next Bold Move, Napoleon, Shy, Gravel, In or Out...I could never choose a favorite. Pick up her new album which is a selection of choice songs from her career.

Ani, was, is, and forever will be my hero and a lyrical genius. Her manipulation of the english language is a true marvel. She has a way of saying things that just seems to touch every part of me. Names, Dates, and Times is MY theme song lol. Thank you for taking the time to show her a little love on your blog. It made my day. ~ Abbra

I only recently became an Ani fan after resisting her for many years because the cult of Ani annoyed me. But, damn, she is talented. And she has interesting lyrics.

My sister kept yelling at me a few years ago about listening to Ani. I kept refusing. (I don't know why we just do that sometimes) but the minute I heard the line "and when I'm approached in a dark alley, I don't lift my skirt" I was in LOVE!!!! I went to her concert 2 years ago with a sign that said "Marry me Ani it's legal in Canada" The first thing that went on my ipod was her and I try to listen as much as possible. And you are right, your blog does not have enough Ani. because you can NEVER have enough Ani.

Ani is a poet. A musical genius. An independent womyn. A hero to me and to lots of ladies around the world. I was first introduced to her lyrical masterings in 1996 by a woman that I met while in the navy. I haven't stopped listening. I have Living in Clip (both discs) & Little Plastic Castle on my ipod. MORE ANI FUCKING DIFRANCO!

I am from Buffalo N.Y. (where Ani is from) and I actually got to meet her once because one of my friends was a friend of her's and he knew how much I loved her so he got me the chance to meet her. The woman is amazing and she doesn't know it yet, but she is so my future wife. My favorite songs are "Not a Pretty Girl" and "both hands"
