Out lesbian rocker Otep Shamaya (our friend and INTERLUDE columnist), and her band OT3P beat out 3000 other bands to make it to the Top 3 finals of the Rock the Vote band contest. The artist that gets the most votes out of the Top 3 will get to perform at the Rock the Vote party at the Democratic National Convention later this month.
We have until this Sunday night to vote for her and help her make some history. I know she'd be super excited to have the support of our community behind her, and we'd be super excited to help.
All you have to do is go to http://www.myspace.com/rockthevote , vote for Otep, and enter your email at the top left-hand side of the page. You have the option of receiving emails from Rock the Vote or not. I chose not to cause I just wanted to check out the website and get information that way.

I got this Rock the Vote email this morning (you don't get too many, really, I've been signed up for a while) and I voted ASAP and then posted a myspace bulliten about it because I was so excited to see her in the top 3 :D
