The L Word Reality Show...Nope. Not Kidding.

Ok so surely by now you've heard the news (and if you haven't click below and BRACE yourself):

thelwordonline.com

Autostraddle.com

What do you guys think of this?? So far, I've heard about 90% negative feedback. But I'd like to hear what YOU think.

I'm kinda confused as to why this was greenlit on Showtime, and Angela Robinson's GIRLTRASH isn't a TV series. Thank GOD the movie is being filmed later this year! Watch the full 20 mins of footage of the web series that has been released so far...

Ugh that L word thing is a NEGitive....I have no desire to watch that and i think its gonna be crap! They had a good thing and yes i realize the story lines needed to end but jeez...I suppose we will be stuck with ex's and oh's if they ever release a second season.

I cannot believe this... if they're still trying to get what they can out of the L word... obviously trying to make as much money as possible... I mean fine, whatever.. I don't mind endorsing the entertainment industry, especially when it highlights what it's like to be us, but they didn't even fucking FINISH THE L WORD!!!!! WE STILL DON'T KNOW WHO KILLED JENNY!!!!!! does this aggravate anyone else?!?!?!

grrrrrrrr. I mean I would probably watch the reality show just to see what it's like... but it will nevre be the L word... they killed it when they killed Jenny...

ok. I'm done.

They all killed jenny FYI lol

I think this is a baddddd idea. It's just a reminder that we don't get to watch the real L word. I don't know...I don't see any good coming from this.

Oh-em-gee! I, for one, am totally excited for this! I used to be a major reality tele junkie, but after The Hills and all that jazz I feel away from it. More to Love hooked me back in, but this REALLY puts the icing on the lesbians! I'm stoked & will become a religious watcher!

I'm going to watch this- However, I don't think they should promote this as The L Word reality show.
It's not The L Word, plain and simple, and I'm going to take this for what this is: A reality show about lesbians, living their lives. In no way is it a comparison to The L Word, in no way will it BE The L Word, but just take it for what it is. A reality show.

It sounds like a copy cat of Gimme Sugar. The show is about real life lesbians, but it doesn't have the same drama and "oh what's happening next" as the L-word had. The writers wrote in a good story line that fans held on to. People still ask "I wonder what Bet & Tina's future would look like with their kids." "Did they ever end up adopting?"
If they are going to do another show with the L-word name in it then finish the un answered questions from the ORGINAL L-word.
I watched Gimme Sugar and WAS into it, but over all it's an un eventful bore.
I may watch this show, but don't see myself getting into it let alone paying for showtime to watch it, because the only time I paid for and had showtime is when the L-word was on.

I agree with Brandyinco.. this is just another Gimme Sugar. It will have nothing to even do with The L Word so I don't get why they have to broadcast it as if it were anything like it. Nothing can top the hotness that is of the original show :/ my feelings are negative.

However if they decide to start a show following Katherine Moennig or Daniela Sea around, I'm down.

One, I think if they are going to make this show, they shouldn't call it 'The Real L Word' cause to everyone who watches it, its not going to be the 'real L word' when people say that they are gunna think that The L word was a spin off if they had never seen it. I think they need to come up with a new name. I also agree with others, before they move onto a 'new' L word, give us the answers of the original one first. I don't want to wait 6 seasons of this new 'reality' show to figure out who killed Jenny, even though I fully think she committed suicide, but that just me. I think they need to finish one 'L word' series up before starting a new one.

is it just me or am i the only one who is disappointed that leisha hailey's L word spin off show didn't make it to a series?? lol i was actually looking forward to see what that was all about, guess now i'll have to settle for a reality show. i'm not too keen on reality tv, in fact i think it's fake as hell. people are just trying to get their 15 min. of fame by being on these shows. they'll do anything outrageous just to get on the camera. maybe i'm just being biased, but i guess i'll just have to wait and see if this reality show is like all the others- dull and mind-numbing!

I hope there are at least a couple of women over 30 on the show. At 36 I feel like I don't have a place in lesbian culture at all. I'd be very interested in watching it if they have a very diverse group of people that includes not only the young and beautiful, but maybe the thirty-something single mother, and the forty-something professional, too.

I'll definitely give it a chance, but I doubt it will be of the same caliber as the original. I thought GirlTrash was a good idea.

One thing I hope they do is make a feature film -- shown in movie theaters -- of The L Word. Like the Sex and the City movie (which I watched and enjoyed btw...and I am mostly straight male). Unfortunately it may not be able to show as much as they did on Showtime...lol ;)

I killed Jenny. If I can't have her, no one can.
... Not that anyone really wanted her... lol

Anyway, I think this is gonna be interesting and can go bad in a split second. But I'm convinced anybody who watched the L Word will watch atleast 2 episodes out of curiosity. Opinions have been formed, no doubt, but still we are drawn like moths to a flame. I can't wait till they announce casting. I think Ilene just wants to keep her name in our mouths, speaking of which - how does that taste?

I dont think this would be a bad idea! I would LOVE to be on the show. It's like a lesbian Real World. In a way, it's almost as though they are exploiting lesbians, and I'm sure (without a doubt) they will only hire skinny beautiful HOT lesbians...BUTTTT on the other hand, it demonstrates how homosexuality has become more and more accepted! We have come a long way ladies!

A big NOOOOOOO from me on the reality series. They should focus all their energy into making a new lesbian show instead of a crappy lesbian reality spinoff from a series that ENDED, that's just going to end up pissing people off. If you want to watch real lesbians then go outside, we're everywhere dammit.

(Well ok, maybe don't 'watch' that would be creepy)

Wow, an interesting idea, but i am very jubious of watching it, when i here the city LA, i think of to beautiful people, an am scared they'll mesws it up and fake alot of it, but it doesn't hurt to try something new!

And for the proper l word show, they have to tie it off properly! i wanna know who killed jenned or if she topped herself! Damn she was hot!
And are their really making an l word film, cause i've heard a few rumours!

They should do a English version of the Lword!! Cause i'm getting bored of watching sugar rush on DVD over an over again! damn it!

As long as they cast someone who even slightly resembles Kate Moennig I will gladly tune in.

this show looks like crap/trash compared to the L word I def wouldnt watch it. I loved the L word even though they depcited alot of the lesbians as cheaters..lol..it was still engrossing.
