Breakfast at Epiphany's

alright kids. gather 'round for a christmas story. everyone have their hot chocolate? good.

now, i know i should probably know about this movie already. and i know some of you will be like, uh, duuuuh. but this post is a shout out to those of you who are like me, and find that every day, something wondrous and gay happens. something new, that illuminates the imagination and sparks the...oh i dont know. i was just trying to think of a Disney commercial and describe it. but its really late and ive had a hard day.

so kids, i wanna introduce you to a miss Audrey Hepburn and a miss Shirley Mclaine. and i want you to watch, as Shirley confesses her love to Audrey. in 1961. oh and if miss Arlan falls out of her chair (again) while i play this clip, i want one of you to go to the principal's office and say "dyke down! dyke down!" and get help. k kids?

i've had that conversation with a woman more than once. and i was freakin' out just like Shirley. tossin' my hair around and everything. who here hasn't? ;-)

If I were to profess my love for Audrey Hepburn, I'd do it like Shirley.

But this reminds me of "Surely, you can't be serious." "I am serious. And my name isn't Shirley." :)

AHHH!!! HAHAHA!!! OMG i was in drama when i was a sophmore (and didnt realize i was gay yet) and my friend and i had to do a 2 min scene and somehow we ended up doin this one and i didnt do my research to figure out what it was about. after it was all over i realized what was going on. HAHA and now im out my friend is bi and everytime we see eachother were always like..."its not the truth...." ahahaha, that was great!! good job arlan!

Lots of people haven't seen this movie! It's amazing! I discovered it in an indy video store about five years ago and have been recomending it to people ever since. In fact, I just used it in a paper I wrote about homosexuality in the media. Fantastic flic. If you haven't seen the whole thing, you need to.
