I live in los angeles (culver city area) and I was wondering if anyone reading this is part of a volunteer organization thats helping with the southern california fires. i want to help any way I can, as soon as I can.
If you know of a caravan thats going down to san diego to help pass out supplies at Qualcomm, or anything like that, please send me a message so I can go with you. If there's anything I can do from here to help, let me know! Im open to lots of different ways to help...
Thanks in advance for letting me know any info.

why does southern california have so many fires?.. is it really that dry down there?
yup, it's wicked dry, we havn't had rain in ages. I'm down in Chula Vista so it didn't quite make it to me but some friends just a couple of miles out had to evac to our area. I'm not clear on the volunteer situation except that I know redcross is NOT taking any more untrained volunteers. A friend was helping at the Q today so I'm guessing they can always put more people to work
yeah, it's crazy. i live in houston, but my girlfriend lives in the san diego area. she works in chula vista and lives in alpine (temporarily), and she didn't have to evacuate but she has been in awe. wild fires are amazing and terrifying things.
