I love everything she does, but this performance made me realize what sort of photographer I want to be one day. It's something I can't explain in words...since she often leaves me speechless. Just watch it again and hopefully you'll understand what I mean.
It was great to hear Sara's song being used! It's my favorite of hers...and I'm glad I was able to hear it live in a couple of tiiiiny venues in L.A. before all the *commercial* (no pun) success. Now if they'd only add Susie Suh, Amy Kuney and Terra Naomi to the list of well-placed SYTYCD songs, we could call it a day. Seriously, just thinking of the things Mia could do with Susie's "All I Want," for instance, makes me melt.
Oh and also...Cat Deeley as a pent up all-girls' boarding school director? Yes. Yes please. And also...THANK YOU!

as a brit, i don't generally get a chance to watch "so you think you can dance" but i'm definately going to make an effort to seek it out from now on. that was incredible...i have goosebumps on my goosebumps!
Her pieces are always so moving and telling. ODDLY enough I planned to blog about Mia's piece this afternoon! Came to work and watercooler talk kept coming back to SYTYCD and Mia's pieces.
The piece last night hit home for me as a person who comes from a place of having dealt with family with addiction etc I can totally feel that piece.
Props to Kapono (sp?) for staying in character so well, as well as his partner!!!!
I love forward every show!!! ANd when Mia's not a judge I PRAY they pick a lyrical piece that she has done!!!
This has been my favorite dance piece of the season. I love Mia Michaels and what she is able to create. Like Joshua said last season, "it's so much more than dance". Oh to live in her world....
arlan! i'm sitting in an internet cafe in france watching and re-watching this instead of shopping on the rue with the frenchy-frenchies...i LOVE mia michaels and this is probably my favorite sara bareilles song. brilliant combination. can't wait to get back to the states so i can watch all the SYTYCD that i missed on my working holiday in europe! thanks for the heads up arlan! you're the best!
Looking for Mia Michaels haircut/style and found you. I so loved this piece as well, and Kapono was spot on with his expressions. So menacing! Very moving! I too look forward to her pieces every week. She's a brilliant artist, butiful and intellectual! There's my lesbian minute...
